Week 67

Hello world!
So its been a great week! We have had allot of food on thanksgiving. We
SO I had  had about 3 or 4 meals... We had an appointment at 12 then 2 then 4 then 6... The one at 6 we just had some desert... But we learned this the hard way. Turkey makes us really really tired. At our 2nd dinner we had a turkey and I was just struggling to stay up. It was no fun. But I survived! I just had to eat a little bit at a time... we were tire and sore from all the food and football we played yesterday. It was crazy!
Now Christmas is around the corner. and you know what that means? Christmas!
Inline image 2
We helped our landlord with their Christmas tree. It was allot of fun! Plus I love Christmas music.
I had a cool experience this weekend! I got a text friday night about an excommunicated lady I taught in my first area. And I was told that the baptism was at 12 pm. But the problem was I had some appointments at that time so we weren't able to go...Or so I thought! the appointments fell through! So I called Jeff Law and told him to meet me in American Fork and lets go to Pleasent Grove! So we did. And she wasn't expecting me at all. But her face when she saw me come in was priceless. She was so happy. At the end of her baptism and confirmation she beared a  very powerful testimony! She talked about how she see the Lord hand in her life and how she know that God And Jesus Christ live. It was so powerful! I was happy. I had to hold back the tears as I was giving the closing prayer. I realized that if I didn't make it her testimony may not have been strengthen on how Heavenly Father really loves herInline image 3
I am so proud of her! She is awesome!
I realized that the Lords had is really in everything. if those appointments canceled I wouldn't have seen how much she has changed and came unto Christ! It awsome!
I know the Church is true and Christy Lives. i know his hand is in Everything I do! He loves all of us and he has a big plan for us. i love you all and I hope you all have a great week! :)

Week 63

Hello world!
Its a beautiful day in Eagle mountain!
Its a little colder than Provo. But its awesome! I love it here.
For starters I realize that I never did realize that I didn't talk about my companion.
Elder Poulima is from Samoa he has been out for 6 or 7 months. He is the oldest of 6 kids. he loves his family, very close to his Mom. He is allot like me where he didn't go on a mission till he was 20 years old. Wants to serve the Lord! Is a jokester, but most polys are to be honest :) its in the job description haha. but hes awesome! I love him. Hes a good missionary. Hope you love the picture of us and the buffulo :) Inline image 1
Hope you love the picture of us and the buffulo :) We were contacting people and we came to this hunters house and we asked can we take a picture o with it? haha the guy said sure! So we did. haha
We are teaching a lady name Peggy. She is this sweet 65 year old lady who has had no religious background at all. She is a sweet heart. She thinks that she has to be perfect to be baptized. But we taught about the talk about the Talk His Grace is Sufficient by Brad Wilcox. It really helped her allot!  Now she just is trying to get a testimony that these things are true. That's another stumbling block we are at. But She is awesome! I love her!
I also had a baptism for a lady in my last area. She left the church for a while. But then after a very long time she came back :) She is like another mother to me. She is awesome! I am very happy for her! :)
Inline image 2
Well everyone I love you all! I am grateful to be here as a missionary! Its really the best! I am grateful for Jesus Christ and his sacrifice for me. I love you all and hope you all have a great day! :)

Week 62

Hello World!
Its been a while I know. I apologize. Sometimes it gets hard to send emails as a missionary. But I will do better next time!
SO The past few weeks I have been training and doing my best to get Provo going so that in case I leave I can know for a fact that it will be a good area for the next missionary's.
Last week I got my call for transfers... and I am moving! After 7 1/2 months I am moving areas. I am going to Eagle Mountain! And I will be serving with Elder Poulima from Samoa. Pretty unexpected. But I am excited! I can't wait till I see what the Lord has in store for me in Eagle Mountain!
So I came to eagle mountain. And its very different from Provo and Lindon. Its a newer community. Only 15 years old. Has been ranked one of the youngest area in the US or Utah. I saw that yesterday when I noticed that most of the ward has allot of kids. So I can see that. It has like 2 gas stations and a Wal Mart and about 50 church buildings. Thats what it is. I hear there some polygamy here... haven't ran into it yet. Its very wide spread too did I mention that?
For Halloween we had to stay inside for 4 hours and we had a movie that we could watch called Ephraims Rescue. It wasn't bad. It like the other part of 17 miracles. Then we played games and chilled. It was allot of fun. Btw did I mention to you that I am in a district of sisters?... Yep I am a District leader for sisters... which makes me Relief Society President basically...haha This will be fun!
Inline image 1
So on Saturday I go t to witness a baptism back in my old area. This man has been taking the discussions for over 10 years. and finally he makes the leap of faith. The Baptism was beautiful. I really enjoyed the spirit that was there. I am proud of that man! :) He's the most Christlike person I have met in a long Time. Happy for him.
Inline image 2
I love missionary work. The wife told me thank you for not giving up on him. You just kept trying and trying. And now hes here. I didn't think I had much of a part in his conversion. But then I thought about it. I kept on going and trying to help him. I knew I couldn't convert him. But I knew someone could. So thats why I kept going. So I guess I see how Heavenly Father really used me as an instrument in His hands to bring Travis unto Christ.
I know that the Lord has a plan. I know that I am in Eagle Mountain for a reason. I look ofrward to this adventure here and with my new companion! I know that the Church is true! I know Christ Lives! I know The Book Of Mormon is true! I know We have a Modern Day Prophet in these last days. I love you all! I can't believe I am on my down hill slope of my mission. But that doesn't stop me from working hard! I love you all! Have a great Week!

Week 58

Well hello world!
Wasn't general conference amazing! So many good things were said in those 5 sessions! I loved pretty much all of them. I loved 2 quotes from conference. One of them was by Edward Dube. I love it when he said " Never look back. Look at the work we have to do" I love that quote! I loved President Ucthdorfs quote " Doubt your doubt, Before you doubt your faith".  Any doubts that I have I will turn to those 2 quotes. Amazing!
Its been a good week over all. We have had a few good things happen. So one we were over at an investigators house last night. And he has been taking the missionary discussions for 10 years. Last night he wants to be baptized! The look on his wife and kids face was priceless! The spirit instantly filled the room! It was amazing! I was so happy! I couldn't believe it! Happiest day of my life. Well since Thursday. :)
So I know that every one who is an RM or is currently serving may be a little jealous of this. But on Thursday...
 Inline image 1
Yep we got Ipads! :) I can now use it for the hastening of the work. I can now use Skype and Facetime to teach lessons. Its quite amazing! So if you do know anyone who would like to learn more about the Gospel and about Jesus Christ, you can send them to me. I am still trying to access my Skype account. If they have facetime then just put my email and it should connect.
I love you all. I know that these Ipads are to be used as a tool for the work of Salvation. Its going to help the Lord work soo much! And this will be a powerful tool. I love my Savior and I know he lives. I am excited to see what the Lord has in store for me these last few transfers. I know  this Church is true. Till next time!

Week 57

Hello world!
Wow it has been a while! I am sorry I am going to give a summary for what has happened. I am still in Provo training again! I am currently training Elder Soper from Vancouver, WA. He's cool, I like him.

We have been working hard on this area. We have actually picked up a couple of new people. One of them their last names are actually the Gleave! Sounds very similar to Gleed! That's pretty cool! I wonder if we are related? Well they are a great family. The husband has been less active for many years and the wife is Lutheran. Bro. Gleave wants to come back to the church so he's taking the discussions and Sis. Gleave is there to support her husband. Bro. Gleave said to Sis. Gleave "I don't expect you to become a Mormon." Then she replies back, I will decided whether I want to be a Mormon or not." Very open minded and has a good heart. They are such a great couple :)
So we also had a leadership training meeting for all the Leadership. We heard some really great things! Like how there will be a set of senior couple missionaries in every stake in Provo! So pretty much by December we will have about 300 missionaries in this mission! Including the Senior Couples that will also be full time missionaries. Crazy! We learned a great way to look at Joseph Smith's first vision and how to apply it into our own lives. Its really amazing! I love it!
Well everybody that's about all the time I have! I love you all and have a great day! :)

Week 55

Hey everybody!

We have had storms and crazy weather here. I thought Washington was bipolar, but nope. Utah goes from sunny skies to pouring down rain and wind storms. Yeah Utah is crazy!
Well this week we had a re-baptism. It was awesome! I have met with a few excommunicated people before. And they can  be one of 2 things. One comfortably stubborn. Or humbly submissive. This one was humbly submissive. She was so happy to be baptized! She has been working on it for a  year and a half or so. but she finally made it! Proud of her!  Happy for her! :)

We also went mining... Or we were just digging under a house cause the guy was making more space for downstairs. But it was fun though! I really enjoyed it . Good work out ;)

Yeah it was fun haha.
Well everyone I love you all and I know that this church is true. I know Jesus Christ is our Savior and Redeemer. I know we have a prophet in these latter days. I know that for a fact! I still can't believe Kyle is in the MTC and I have been out a full year! Its amazing! I love you all, and till next time!

Week 54

Hello World!

Its a beautiful Day in the Neighborhood! As Mr. Rogers would say.
We have had a pretty good week this week I must say!
We have had the opportunity to have a baptism for Larry Shelton! Inline image 1 He is an Awesome guy! You may wonder why are we looking down? Well there was about 4 other cameras going off at the same time. And one people taking the picture was sitting down and she said look this way.... Which during that time my camera took a picture as well haha!

It was a great baptism though. When Larry came out of the water the first thing he said afer standing in the water for about a minute was "speechless". It was pretty awesome!  He is a great man and he is going to be an even better disciple of Jesus Christ.

My Son! (Aka Elder Warr. Kinda like a Trainer is the father and the Trainee is the son) He put someone on date!! I am happy for him! What was cool was that when we were planning it for some odd reason we felt like we should put him on for September 14. Which when we committed him for that he said that his son's Birthday! Crazy huh? I did not expect that! haha But it was great!
Well everybody I don't have much else to say. but I would like to give a Shout out to My little Bro Kyle! I love you man and I am happy that you are going to preach the Gospel to the Chileans! You will be an awesome Missionary! Love you and see you in 2 years! :)

Week 53

Good morning World!! :D

Well its been a cool week. I have had a few opportunities to see the Lord's hand in the work. I have actually taught a few Facebook lessons. It was really strange but I kinda like it haha. I feel lazy at the same time haha.
but this week we had some Navajo Tacos! Inline image 1
It was actually pretty good. its basically fried bread with the same stuff to make taco Salads. Plus it was made by Pure blood Navajos. So I got to learn some Navajo... And that's a hard language! Good heavens! haha
We also got to take a picture of where we are in Utah. Mainly cause we saw a band take some Band photos here while we were walking. And so we decided to take our Picture hahaInline image 2
We have actually had some miracles this week. Its pretty awesome. So we were going out for Pho. And we were origanally going to go out of our area when I felt like we should eat at this Pho place in our area. While we were riding by we were passing a part member familys house and the stopped us and asked us to give them a Blessing. If we had just gone to the other Pho place we would have not been able to give that Family a blessing.
Same kind of Deal yesterday. We were in our area to hand off someone to the new Missionaries in the Area. And after that lesson we were going to visit a family in the area cause I haven't seen them in a while. But then I got this impression to actually go to a less actives house who I haven't seen in about 2 months. Knowing me I follow those things. cause I know I would regret it if I didn't follow it.So we went over there last night and she let us in and we talked to her and found out what she has been training non stop for a fight she is having on saturday. And She said she is scared, nervous, doesn't know what to think.Plus not only that she was sick. But I offered a blessing to her. And she said she would like that! I found out at that very moment why we were there. So it was a great and It was a great blessing.
So to all you missionaries who want good tips on how to be Succesful missionary and see miracles. Well Be OBEDIENT! Average Missionaries are like 80% obedient. Well when we got Facebook they told us there can be mot even 99% Obedience for this! So be Exactly obedient. Thats the First Law in Heaven.
I know this Church is true. I know Jesus is the Christ. I know this is the Work of Salvation. not our work, but the Lord work. We are just the instrument in his hands. I love you all and can you believe its already been a year since I first came out on my misison? Crazy!!! It all down hill from here. I really don't want to be home right now or in a year haha.
I love you all and I hope you have a great day!! :D

Week 52

Hey everyone!

I am now with Elder Warr! He is from Salem Ut. He is a trial missionary cause he has some heart problems and other problems. But he's cool!
So Elder Warr's first day included getting $20 within the first hour of being in the field. Haha He is going to love this mission more than anything! He has a strong testimony of the Gospel. I try to use some of the things my trainer taught me throughout my training. I hope to be as good as a trainer as he was to me.
We also had a lot of surprises.... So for one we lost our car... Cause some other missionaries crashed their car and apparently they needed their car more? And we found out that we would still cover the 3 stakes till tomorrow. And we are on Foot -_- So it was a challenge. But its working out ok. We are not getting a lot of lessons. But the area is progressing a lot though! We are going to see miracles this transfer!
Well I don't have much else to write but I love you all and I Pray for you everyday! :)

Week 51

Hello World!!!

So yeah I am on Facebook! Its a wonderful new tool that we will be using in the Lord hands to spread the Gospel.
So I guess I will tell you about Facebook. So here is how it works. So I am actually suppose to use Facebook everyday for at lease an hour! How often do you hear that? And whats crazy is that I can actually use family as fellowshippers, so that means if I really want I can use my parent technically ! Crazy to see how really prophesies are coming true. With Facebook the Gospel can actually penetrate every nation where the Gospel could never be before!
Well I just got transfer call today. Provo South is splitting and I am going to be in the other 2 stakes I cover. And now my areas I guess called the Provo Bonneville area. So yeah and not only that I will be training a new Elder from the MTC and I am now a District Leader! Crazy huh? Elder Kim is opening up a new asian area called UVU Asian. He covers all Asians Except Chinese. Apparently there is allot of areas that are splitting and new Zones are forming. Man and I am in the middle of it! haha So yeah. the missions are changing and the Lord is doing some amazing things!
Well Everyone if you have any questions just send me a message. But do tell people who are your friends who want to know more to add me on Facebook and they can ask me anything :) I love you all!

Week 50

Hello world!
Wow time is flying way too fast! I can't believe its already been almost a year. Man I can't believe it! And sooooooo much is happening. But I will first tell you about our week.
So for starters we have found many great new investigators! We found this one guy named Leonard. He's 53 years old and grew up in LA. When we first met with him he said he was only going to listen to the things he wants. Meaning he is going to filter the things he doesn't want to hear about. So we thought he wasn't going to be a very good person to teach. Then we saw him on Thursday. And he completely flipped 180! He said that he knows that he is doing wrong now! he said I am going to change! And If you can imagine a geto black man saying this quote right here you would crack up. " I don't wanna do Wha I wanna do! I only wanna do wha da Heavenly Fatha want me ta do!"  Our Lesson yesterday was pretty awesome! He could not stop telling us how this feeling of the Holy Ghost has made him so very happy! Actually he would not stop talking about it, we barely made it through the lesson haha. It was probably one of those experiences that I can't stop smiling about every time I hear it!
So Now  I have a crazy new announcement. As Tuesday July 30 2013. The Utah Provo Mission will be allowed to use Facebook!!! :D And we will be using our own accounts. I don't know the details or how its all going to work. But I am actually excited! I can't wait! Exciting!
SO Yeah I guess that's all I have to write about this week. But I can show you a picture of Elder Kim and I riding an antique firetruck!Inline image 1

Week 49

Hello World!

So its been a good week. We had allot of lessons. but we also had a pretty cool fireside. We got to see the construction and history of the Provo City Center temple. It will be about 2 more years till its finished. But whats amazing is that it is actually 40 feet in the air...

Its actually higher than that in the picture.
But yeah we got to see what the finished temple is expected to look like. And Its going to be a nice temple!!! They have so many plans for it.
But what was actually surprising was this. So we are now till the temples complete basically a Temple Square Mission. Like we will be at a booth and we will talk to people about the temple and ask for referrals. So Yeah we each have a 2 hour shift like every 3 or 4 days. So this is going to be a new experience. I'm excited!
So yeah I love life. We had about 33 lessons this week. We got to the point where we had to do actual splits with Priesthood holders. So yeah the Lord is hastening the work. And its not slowing down!
Well I don't have much else to say but I love you all and I wish you all the best. The Church is true and Jesus Christ is our Savior and Redeemer! Till Next time!

Week 46

Well Hello World!

So its been great these past 2 weeks! So I am now with Elder Kim who is from Bellevue, Wa. And We found out that we both attended the same church building! So yeah we have a lot to talk about when it comes to Seattle. Its pretty awesome!
So for the 4th of July we marched in the Provo Parade. And I have to say I have never given so many high fives to kids in my life! But we got a big standing ovation as we were walking by. It was pretty awesome. All 215 missionaries were there. Pretty amazing.Good times! I also saw my trainer Elder Jarman! I was so happy to see him after 8 or 9 months.
Inline image 1
We also couldn't go out after 5 on the 4th. Why? I don't know. But its probably for a good cause.
We watched How To Train Your Dragon (that was the approved movie ) And we played Dodge ball. Pretty fun night I must say.
We Also had a wedding for Olga and Mareano. Inline image 2
So its been a good 2 weeks. We are teaching Olga. Shes pretty awesome! And the wedding was wonderful. I felt the Spirit there as the Bishop married them. They will have a great life together in marriage.
Well everyone I hope you all have a great day and a great Life! I love you all! :D

Week 44

Good afternoon world!
Its been a remarkable week. We have 27 lessons this week and we have a lot of good things happening soon!
SO, for starters I had the opportunity of teaching Paul and Ahmbroe. These 2 guys are  amazing! Like I mentioned in a previous email, they are from Nigeria and they are the  most humble people ever! I honestly haven't met more humble men in my life. And on Saturday they got Baptized! :DInline image 1
Such awesome guys! A Stake president told me that you can't teach people from Africa about God or faith cause they already have so much of it. But we can all learn from them,  and teach them the truths, and we all end up learning as one! I love Nigerians. I feel gypped cause I was sent to Provo where a lot of people either love the Church or hate it and they are hardend. But Its good cause in the end, I really love the people here, and you love the place you are serving. Eventually you say to yourself  "this is where I was meant to serve." I am grateful to be here in the UPM!
So a lot of you have probably seen the Worldwide leadership meeting. Yes I was there. It Was an awesome experience! I really enjoyed that. Its a missionary's dream come true, telling the members that we as members need to help the missionary's. We were going to be in the front row, but they told us last minute that we need to be with leadership.
Inline image 2
But it was a lot of fun. I am excited for the Ipads! Coming in august for us. And by the end of the year, All missons will be able to have Ipads and Iphones. Truly amazing!
The Lord is Hastening the work. That is all I can say.
As for transfer calls! I am staying in Provo and I will be with Elder Kim from Seattle Washington. I am excited! And Elder Della Puca will be in Pleasant Grove With Elder Reed. Funny 'cause Elder Reed had a companion named Elder Dela Cruz And is now Getting Della Puca... Crazy.
Well I love you all , and Mission President told us that The work is Hastening, and is not going to slow down. The thing I think of now when that is said is... Bring it On!

Week 43

Hello World! Its great to see you again!

Well so far the news of the week is that we had a baptism!
This Lady has been wanting to be baptized for a year, but had to quit smoking and coffee and had many legal issues. She has gone through a lot for homelessness and her husband leaving her and putting a restraining order on her kids... that's not a fun life. But she is seeing miracles! She has a job! She's now a member of the church and things are going so much better for her its awesome! She says this is the best thing she has eInline image 1ver done.
Great things are happening! We picked up a couple of new people to teach and its pretty exciting!
I have been seeing a lot of change in myself lately and I am amazed. Spiritually I have been concentrating more on my investigators and I am opening my mouth when the spirit speaks to me. Its different. I love it! I really don't like thinking a lot about myself very much. I have noticed it makes me prideful. Its no fun. "Forget yourself and go to work!" said President Hinckley. What a good saying!
Physically I have dropped 40 lbs... Yeah crazy!! Inline image 2
Pictures say a thousands words but this is may be jaw dropping! Haha! I can't believe it. Haha but I love it haha Ihope to have a 6 pack by the end of my mission! haha
But I love The Lord. I am grateful for all that he has done for me. I haven't had such a greatness of happiness in a long time! Its wonderful! I love the Lord. I can't believe its been 10 months since I have been out. Its a mix between bitter and sweet. I can't wait to go home in about a year, But I also don't want it to end! Agh! Well I love you all. The Church is true! I can testify to that and thats why I am out here. :)

Thursday, May 30, 2013

Week 40

Well Well Well! A lot is definently happening here in the Lord's work. So much is going on! So much hastening of the work! A lot is going on.
I have been very tired lately because of how much work there is. I am having a hard time catching my breath and we are going crazy! So much work! I haven't done so much in a long time!
But it is really a good thing cause now I am getting to the top of my game and working hard!! Yeahya! haha things are going great!
We recently had a baptism for Niko Ventura. He's 11 years old with parents who haven't been to church in a long time. But after the many visits and many things that worked out we managed to get him into the waters of baptism! But there was actually a greater thing that happened. So the Dad finally decided that he wanted to baptize Niko. And he actually didn't have the Aaronic priesthood. But about 30 mins before the baptism the bishop conferreded the Aaronic Priesthood to Niko's dad Renaldo. It was a great baptism. :)Inline image 1
Seeing a father baptize his son is an amazing thing to see. It was a great Baptism ceremony. I really enjoyed it! It was hard work that was worth it. I can't wait to see the happiness the gospel will bring to this family.
Well world I love you all and I really can't believe I have been out for 9 months now. It's going too fast for me to be honest. But that's why I was told once that missionary's should stop fooling around and that's why. Cause you have 2 years to make a difference. And these next 2 years are setting you for eternity. So that's why i hear the  term " 2 years to Eternity".

Week 38

Hello world its been a great week this week... Well its had its ups and downs actually.
So lets start with the ups! So this week hasn't been the best on lessons. We haven't been able to meet with a lot of our investigators. And we didn't quite make it to our goals.  But here is something pretty funny to tell you.
So the Spanish Elders had to drain the font from a baptism that they had. However, they messed up on the plug and they could not get it to drain. So they had this brilliant idea about how to drain it so they don't have to swim, they call us instead to ask if we can hold one of the Elders by the leg and... Well  pictures say

a thousands words...Inline image 1

This is just funny, probably the dumbest thing I have done on my mission. But its a good story to tell. We had a luau that was hosted by the Spanish ward. And people here just come over and invite us over. They were showing off some of the dances from other Poly Islands. It was pretty cool! Reminds me of when we had a luau in Federal Way! Pretty legit!
Also pretty cool thing also was that I caught a bird...yes with my bare hands!Inline image 2
Yep I am pretty legit!
Well Everyone I am going to make another blog for the bad news on what happen this week. Till next time!

(This is the bad news part of Elder Gleed's week)

Elder Guerra

So on Thursday morning we received a text from the mission office about an Elder amed Elder Guerra. He was sent to the hospital for a brain aneurysm. That is where there is a bleeding in the brain basically. He went to the hospital in the morning and they tried to operate on him. But it was too late.
He was announced brain dead by that afternoon. He was kept alive for a little while till his parents were able to fly from Sweden.
Today we had the Memorial for him. I personally didn't know him. We did come out into the field at the same time. But I could tell just by looking at him that he was an amazing missionary. Exactly obedient, had that Spirit to him that made him shine. I now wish I could have served around him.
There were a lot of stories that were said today. And from those stories came every single Christlike attribute. He was more Christlike than any other missionary I have met in my life. I really appreciate him and his example to me and all other missionaries in the Utah Provo Mission. He will be remembered always for his service here.
I leave my prayers for him and his family. I know that family's can be together forever. I know that the atonement will bring people comfort. And I pray that the atonement will be used on his family. I love my Savior. And I know that Elder Guerra did too. But I also know that he will continue to do missionary work in the spirit world. I will miss you Elder Guerra. God be with you till we meet again

Week 36

http://web.mail.comcast.net/service/home/~/DSCN0465.JPG?auth=co&loc=en_US&id=580651&part=2
Hello Everybody!

This week we have had success! Working with Elder Harpole was fun! I learned so much from that Elder. But it was stressful to be in 2 areas at once! We have driven almost 1100 miles this month! That's more than the ZLs get! So yeah we have been busy!
On the Bright side We had 4 Baptisms this week! It was pretty awesome! But what was not fun was the ward Mission Leaders didn't fill the font for our baptisms so we had to fill up the font like twice! So yeah it was crazy!
But I had a great opportunity to get into the font and help this Mongolian Lady get baptized cause she has a hurt neck. So I got to go in and help.
But Yeah now that we got 4 people to be baptized we now have to find more people... So yeah that's the worst part of missionary work haha.
Luckly we have like 7 referals from people who are either prepared or they were just random people who the LDS people think need the gospel but the referal wont accept it haha. That's Utah for ya!
SO I love you all and this letter is short but I am having a great time here! So much is happening! I can feel it!

Week 35

Well Hello World!
Wow so much has happened since I got here in Provo South!
So for starters, we got another new companion in our district. His name is Elder Harpole! He will be with us for till Saturday cause his companion had to go home on Medical release. So our areas have combined together. And so we cover almost half of Provo. Crazy huh? So Yeah this will be fun!
We had my birthday last Sunday and it was pretty awesome!I got a cake from a less active family we are teaching. haha t
The funny thing was that they bought the cake on Sunday hahaha but it was awesome! I had a great birthday!

So on Saturday we had a baptism for Christina Jones! Her baptism was one to remember. So they left us the responsibility to fill up the font. However we mis-calculated how long it would take to fill up the font... So it was half an hour before the baptism started and the font had been filling for almost 2 hours... and the water wasn't even filled half way... So what do we do? Panic!!! SIKE! Handle it like a boss! haha
We got pitchers, Garbage cans and we started filling the font from the sinks and janitor closet. and we did work! We spent the last 30 mins just chucking water into the font. We found out, midway though, that we ran out of hot water as the font was almost complete. But She had a successful baptism and things turned out good! :)Inline image 2 So yeah plus thats honestly a good picture of me (I mean us!! ) :)
But yeah things turned out good and we have 4 baptism this Saturday!! :D I haven't had that many baptisms  in one day before so haha this will be fun!
I love you all and I hope all is well. My testimony and teaching have gotten so much stronger! Its amazing how much I have change. Physically and Spiritually. I love life and I love My mission! I can't believe I have been out 8 months today! Its going fast!! I love you all and till next time!

Week 32

Hello hello everybody!!
This week has been a little slow to be honest. haha But it was good.
We put someone on date this week! And we got a couple of less activespeople to commit to come to Sacrament Meeting.
I don't think I explained that we have recently gotten a new teaching style. We now have to teach with the pamphlets! Every lesson! No more spiritual thoughts! Mission president said that if we do not use this new method we are sinning and we need to repent!... I was like, "um, well I guess I need to get in the zone and do that then!" haha Its from mission head quarters so its basically  saying you have to do this or you will... burn... in... Yeah haha.
SO today I  got my transfer call! And The news is,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
I AM LEAVING LINDON! I will be going to Provo South. I don't remember my companions name but that's what's happening. Man I am going to miss Lindon. So much has happened. I really love this area. But I know this is where the Lord needs me.
I will miss a lot of people...the Melines, Pennocks, Anourack, Pierre, Bob, Shane, and countless other! But I am excited to see what is next!

Just like this picture haha good times.

Well I love you all and I will let you know what happens next in my new adventures in Provo South! Till next time!! :D

Week 30

Inline image 2Inline image 1
Hello world! Its a great day to be a missionary. We had 3 great baptisms! We had the baptism of Aly Fraughton, Pierre and Anourack. All were great baptism. I got to baptized Anourack. It was a great experience since I have never done a baptism before. I felt bad though cause I had a hard time saying his last name when I was doing the baptism. I got to his middle name then I was like say it again? haha opps!  But it was great I loved it! They bore such great testimonys at the end of the baptisms.
So this week we didn't get allot of lessons in but we recently got a new investigator. So this is a cool story.
So Jamie shes 14 years old and Her Dad is a member but is inactive and her Mom is not a member. They both said that she has to wait till she is 18 to be baptized. And for the past year and a half she has been attending church. She really wants to be baptized so bad! But her parents said she has to wait till shes 18. So last week the young women in her class decided to fast and pray for her. And not too long after the fast her parent decided that she can decide to be baptized now. Thats just awesome! And she really knows allot about the gospel and the lessons so what we are basically doing is we are going to have her teach us and we will just fill in the things she is missing in that lesson. But thats awesome!!!  I'm pretty happy for that!
But yeah so thats about all I have to share this week. I love you all and I miss you all so much! Just know that I know this gospel is true and we have a Father in Heaven who loves us and cares for us!.

Week 27

Ok so I will start the every other week of my blog next week if there isn't any exciting news.

But so I thought I would announce a couple things that have happened this week. So for starters I turned 6 months old in the mission! I have finished 1/4 of my mission. It has both gone by fast but it has been slow as well. But now it is starting to pick up the more harder I work. I am amazed how a mission has changed me these past 6 months. I am thinner and I have grow so much in character, and spiritually. I am amazed how the spirit works through me. I have been making promises that I would normally never make to people. I recite scriptures that I swear I have only read once or twice and I am teaching like I have never taught before. I am amazed at what has been accomplished since I have gotten here. So many miracles and so many changes and announcements. I feel so blessed to be in the middle of all these wonderful things happening.

As for the rest of my week we recently put the 2 French kids we have been teaching for a while on date to be baptized on March 16th. I am so excited for them! But we also put Aly on date for March 16th and Alex on date for March 16th... So 4 baptisms will be happening on march 16th... That is crazy!! haha I am excited! I can't wait since they have been such great people to teach! I really look forward to it!

Another cool thing happened. So back in like October I met a guy named Shane. We knocked on his door one day and the first thing he said was " Mormons? I used to invite y'all in and Bible bash with y'al!" We met with him like twice and we couldn't catch him after that. But just about a couple weeks ago we get a call and the guy says "We've got a live one!" And sure enough it is the same Shane that I met a few months ago and he wants to progress to baptism!... I have to say the Lord really prepares his people. He said he read the Book of Mormon twice! And he is going to church and everything! Wow talk about prepared. We met with Shane on Tuesday and he said he wants to study the Book of Mormon now that he has read it. He really wants to progress to baptism and he is determined! That is awesome!!! :D

Well everybody I wish I could post a picture but I can't right now but I love you all and I hope you have a great week! The Gospel is true and it has been restored on the earth again!

Email from one mom to another

Dear Sis. Gleed~

I ran into your Elder at the church the other day and noticed how fit he is! Then he sent us a text saying they had an open dinner appt. So we jumped on it! It was so nice to sit and visit with them again. We had to show them our new Nerf guns. This was their Men in Black pose. They are doing so good and working hard. Thank you for sending a great young man to our area!!

Week 26 February 18, 2013

Hello World its a great day in Utah. The snow is starting to melt and things are going good :)
We recently got our transfer calls ready for this?,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
I am staying in Lindon for another 6 week! haha Wow I will have been here for 7 1/2 months at the end of this transfer! Crazy! Also I hit my 6 month mark on Friday. Pretty crazy how time is flying and how so much is happening! Its amazing! I can't believe how much has happened and how fast things are happening! I'm pretty amazed myself :)
So yeah this week was Valentines week and what do missionaries do during then? Well for starters we just simply heart attack the other Elders apartment and we decorate cookies with our investigators. Its pretty cool not gonna lie.
We have put Aly on date for March 23rd. We really look forward to it! She is so excited and she is so prepared!

We are teaching this kid named Alex and I have to say this is probably the first time I have seen how some changes come through the Gospel. He at first wasn't a fan of church or anything and he had some issues with Utah people and how it feels like there is either Mormons or non Mormons there. But now he loves it when we teach and he went from just listening to the lessons to asking and talking about the lesson. Its pretty cool how that change has been made in him.
Well Honestly I don't have much to report and I am thinking now that I am going to start doing these emails every other week. So I am going to start doing that. But I love you all and I miss you so much. I pray that you all are strengthend as I am away. Take care till next time!

Week 25 February 11, 2013

This week has been really good! But there has been a couple bumps in the roads.
So we are aloud to workout at the gym as long as it was in the morning and we don't cut into personal study. Well while we were at the gym this random guy that I have never met in my life talks to Elder Makuakane and I and asks us to leave. He Said we are not aloud to be here. The crazy thing is he said allot of stupid things like If you don't leave in 5 mins you will be sent home tonight and you will be excommunicated. He also said that this time was for personal study (at 6 o'clock in the morning?) and that there were scandalous women around. The funny thing was that all the women were dressed very modestly and I am pretty sure there was only one person who had a tanktop on. He asked us to leave and he didn't even work there. So we left and then we call president to forewarn him that he is going to get a complaint and we didn't do anything. The funny thing about President McCune is the guy complained to him and told him about the women and he said that we teach scandalous women. And he also said If I didn't want my missionaries around women I wouldn't allow them to go to church. OOOOOOOOOO I love my Mission President. Hopefully things will get settled out and we can go back to the gym :) (**They are now going to another gym and all is well)

So about my week. This week we had a baptism for Brooke and Jessica. Its was such a great baptism! Over 200 people showed up to it! It was pretty much like sacrament meeting. It was awesome. I am so happy for those girls. But now their members and I can't do too much after that besides teach them new member lessons! haha No but I loved teaching those girls. :) They are going to be awesome members of the church :)

Another good thing that happened was that we recently put 3 people on date this week! Its awesome and they are are so ready for it! We are currently teaching 2 French kids named Anourack and Pierre. The 2 guys from France who are here to learn English. They have been going to church for the past few months. they are ready to be baptized. But we need to talk about faith a little more with them cause their culture is not really religious. But they are ready!

O and I also bought a guitar. Its not bad, but its not like my guitar back home :(

Well everybody I hope you all have a great day and I can't believe its been 6 months almost. Time is flying so I better not waste it. Till next time!

Week 24 February 4, 2013

Well everyone its been crazy here in Lindon. For starters... We got a car! I was so happy about that! Now even more work can be done! Its a brand new 2013 Toyota Corolla. Its beautiful! I love it. But I am not the driver... sad I wish I was :( O well haha.

So we have been doing a lot this week. We just picked up 2 French guys who are living with their aunt and uncle and are taking the discussions. They are so good! They have been going to church for the past couple months now! Its awesome! They are teaching me a little French. like Bonjour and Como seva! Bien is the same in French and Spanish. I didn't know that.
So on P-day last week we had a volleyball tournament. District against district. So we decided to go all out. And we all bought matching shirts. They say "U Mad Bro?" haha it was awesome! I am pretty sure we won. We forgot to keep score. but it was awesome!

Also I saw this sign on a door that said "No Soliciting, and Don't Try To Save My Soul" Thats the first time I have ever seen one haha.
We have been teaching a lot and we got 3 new people to teach people. And we have been teaching 25 lessons! Its so cool! I love teaching a lot of lessons! Its makes the work more enjoyable :) We also have a baptism this week for Brooke and Jessica. They are so excited for their baptism and they are more than ready! I am so excited for them as well! :) Allot will probably happen in the next couple weeks. And I am excited to write and tell you about it :)

I love you all and know that I miss you too. I am so grateful I am on a mission right now. Its is a great experience. I have grown so much both physically and spiritually. Its amazing. I am surprised that on the 22nd of this month I have been out 6 months. I hear it picks up speed even more after that. I am excited though to see even more of the Lord work on my mission. Its going to be great. Till next time!

Week 23 January 28, 2013

Well Hello world! I have to say this week has to been one of my favorite weeks in my mission. We have been seeing miracles happening left and right. Literally. Have written 2 pages in my journal about 1 day... like 2 or 3 times. I have to say that I can see the Lords hand in this area and how he is preparing his children to receive the gospel.
Sometimes we have bad time though. We recently had a lady drop us cause she felt like she was wasting our time and she has major PTSD. But how she dropped us was pretty interesting. She gave us a card saying goodbye and explaining everything, and she gave us cookie... Yeah I had something similar to that except it was with banana bread... people in Utah are so nice! haha But that is a ton of Cookies!!! haha a
As you see in the picture. So thats a nice way to say goodbye to the missionaries.
So Yesterday was very busy! We spoke for 5 mins in a sacrament, taught primary for 2 hours, then went to teach Teddy. We recently gave Teddy a challenge to give a prayer of gratitude. He really wants to know his Father in Heaven but hes having a hard time. So we told him to do this. We have been telling him to pray for a long time but this time we gave him something to pray about. Then we went to a ward to give a helping hand then we had Correlation and then had dinner with Courtneys Family. After dinner we then taught her step sister Allie for 15 mins on the restoration. Then she had to go. So we then taught Courtney about Tithing and temples. Then we booked it to Brooke and Jessica's place to give them a lesson. We showed them the video "Only a Stone Cutter". I won't go into details about it but after the movie we bore our testimonies about how we need to act and not be acted upon. And we said many other things that I don't remember. But it was awesome!
But yeah we recently got 4 new people to teach this week! I am so happy! Miracles are happening!
Well everyone just know that I love you all and I miss you and know that I know this Church is true and The gospel really does bring happiness!
I also want to give a shout out to Uncle Scott and tell him happy birthday!!!
Love you all and till we meet again!

Week 22 January 21, 2013

Hello world! It is a great day here in Utah. It is on average between 7 and 11 degrees here. Yeah its gotten record cold this year. First time in 60 years. And I thought that was crazy!
So life is good! I recently got a new companion! His name is Elder Makuakane from Hawaii! (to pronounce his name you pronounce the vowels) He is so awesome! A really hard worker and such a great teacher. He has been in the field for 9 months now. He was baptized when he was 8, but didn't go to church till he was 18. He lived a rough life and wasn't till he was 18 he fully came back. And now he is a missionary so awesome! I look forward to working with him!
This week we have been working hard. We have been working with, and getting back in touch with a lot of less actives. Some of them I haven't seen in like a month and they welcomed us in! We have been mainly doing that. This one lady we haven't seen in a while who I though hated us, when she saw us let us in and had us share a spiritual though. It was cool.
Our investigators, Brook and Jessica, were just talking about their baptism and whats going to happen. I look forward to seeing them get baptized!
This week we are planning on 17 lesson this week! I have never been so happy in my life. I have never had that many lessons in a week! Crazy! I am excited.
So anyways thats just the jist of things that have happened. I have been doing a lot in this area. I can't believe I have been out 6 months in February! Time is starting to move fast! I am starting to like the mission life. So much fun!
Well sorry everyone that I didn't write much but know this I love my Savior and he Loves us! I am grateful for the gospel and how it changes lives. I miss you all and have a great week!

                                                           Elder Makuakane!

Week 21 January 14, 2013

Ello World! Its is a beautiful day today in Utah. Temperature about 10'F. So yeah it is cold! but its not bad I don't mind it too much.

So today we had TRANSFER CALLS! And so the moment we have all been waiting for. Where on Earth (or in Utah) Is Elder Gleed going? Drum roll please!
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
I'm staying in Lindon for another 5 week! Haha I was surprised! Elder Reichert is going to be leaving and is becoming a Zone Leader. And I am companions with Elder Makuakane from Hawaii! So I am looking forward to it! I admit I kinda wanted to switch areas and take and explore other places. But its not what I want but its what the Lord wants. I look forward to seeing what else the Lord has in store for me in Lindon! This is going to be my first 6 month area! Crazy!

So to give you an update on my week. So we are teaching these 2 girls named Brooke and Jessica from the singles ward. They are so awesome! They go to church and study the scriptures and everything. Its amazing. We put both of them on Date for February 9th! So it looks like I will be here to see them get baptized!
We did some exchanges this week I was with Elder Hatch for a day. And it was a lot of fun. He's a wrestler from Arizona. He's actually #1 ranked in Arizona. He and I had some fun times. I was a super hero! And we wrestled... of course I lost.
So lets see what else happened? O, so yesterday we sat through 3 sacrament meetings... in a row. My head was going to explode! So much sacrament in 3 hours! Never doing that again! haha

Well anyways I love you all and I miss you all as well. I appreciate all your guys support. I will have been out for 6 months on February 22nd. Its amazing. Well I will also leave you with another picture of a cool family we have dinner with allot. they are the Sills Family and yeah they are probably the funniest family in Utah!
Well I will talk to you all later! Love ya!

Week 18 Dec. 24, 2012

Well hello everyone!
Well this week is the week we all know as Christmas week. Its is not only a time to rejoice and give a lot of love. But it is a time to look upon Jesus Christ and his birth and all that he has done for us. It is a miracle that he could die for our sins and did this for us! I am so grateful for that.
So this week we taught a less active who one day calls her Young women's president and said she wants to come back to church and wants to take the discussions. She is on fire! She is now going back to church and she understands everything!
This other less active is an RM and he has gone to church twice! And is wanting home teachers to help him with his problems! Its amazing!
Also,  this week we had our Christmas zone conference! It was awesome! We had a great opportunity to listen to Greg Olsen! (yes the painter) He did so great he showed us his pictures and explained stories and meaning about them. One of them had his daughter in it and he explained that he gave here a poster of that and he would always tell his daughter Jesus loves you. Well then he had another little girl named Julie and he told her that Jesus loves her and she pointed to the picture and said "No Dad. Jesus loves Rebecca". Well realizing that, he took a small picture of it scanned it and photo shopped her face on it and after that she said Jesus loves ME!! It was so cool. He mentioned 2 things when it comes to Painting the Savior. He mentions that he must look manly and he must look ordinary. I thought that was interesting. I leave that for you all to think about that.
So then we had a talent show. There were a couple good ones and few strange ones but yeah. Then our mission President let us watch Brave! I had never seen that movie before! So I was excited. It was good and yeah that was what happened at Mission conference :)
Well everyone I wish you all a merry Christmas and thank you all for your support. I am grateful to be serving my Lord and my Savior. I miss you all and Merry Christmas Again!

Week 17 Dec. 17, 2012

Ah, another week gone by and its almost one more week till Christmas. Its crazy cause I have never been away from home for Christmas. It is really a new thing for me. But hey, I'm doing missionary work so its all good. I do miss everybody though. No tree in our house, fireplace, mistletoe-I mean!!! Christmas playing in the house 24/7...

Anyways! So this week has been good! We recently had the baptism and confirmation of Max Ashton! This kid is awesome! So smart and loves the gospel and its principles. I am looking forward to seeing him when I get back from my mission and see how the gospel has made him grow :)
Everybody here is probably asking the question so what are you doing for Christmas? And such. Well for Christmas we are told to not proselyte and just visit families all day. I will either call my parents or skype them. I can do either or but I can only Skype for 30 mins :(
So lets see what else has happened? So we are teaching this girl who is ready for baptism but we need to go through all the lessons and she is so nervous about praying about Joseph Smith. She is only scared cause she knows that her live is going to change completely once she does it. We got a new less active we are teaching. We are also teaching this less active guy named Teddy (short for Theodore). Yesterday I did splits while my companion taught a mission prep for another ward. And so i was doing a lesson like I did last transfer. This lesson i gotta say was very spiritual and very powerful. I can honestly say that from that I do know this church is true and our Father in Heaven loves us sooo much. Well, I am sending a few picture to you guys to day but it will be a few emails since I can only do like 1 or 2 pictures at a time. But I love you all and I wish you all a Merry Christmas!

Week 16 Dec. 16, 2012

Why Hello world!
After many weeks of not having a companion I have finally received one! His name is Elder Riecheirt ( I hope I spelled his name right haha) Hes from Wyoming and he has been out 18 months. Hes a great missionary. This week we have been updating the area books and we have been visiting past investigators. We are basically building up the area and we are working on finding new people to teach and working on new investigators. Today we have a baptism for Max Aston. Hes 10 years old and he is so awesome! I am so excited for him! I really enjoyed teaching that kid :) But this week we will be working our butts off and I am looking forward to seeing this area explode! With lesson and teaching! I am excited! I wish I could tell you more but honestly its just mainly building up the area this week. But I just want to bear you my testimony that I know these things are true and I know my Father in Heaven loves us all and gives us trials that make us grow and become stronger. I love and miss you all and keep writing me cause I love getting letters :)

What do ya wanna know?
